A Doll House

A Doll House

It is no denying the fact that Literature is the mirror of Society. In this sense, if we look into Henrik Ibsen’s novel “A Doll House”, we will get into the societies social and economic issue of early 20th century Norway.
Apparently, the novel had affected mainly by the Napoleonic code of Conduct. This code conduct didn’t execute women’s Male as equality to the men. In the reference of code of  conduct, omen could not become to a warrior, politicians. They were not even allowed to take part in any economic strata of the society. The women were considering to be born as a wife, mother and householders. On this account women were succumb to political, social and economic suppression. When the industrial revolution broke on 1870, women gave a thought to work in industries. This aspiration of women gave them a spark of strike to fight for economic right in the society.
In the determination of “A Doll’s House”, when Nora left her, children and husband, it gives an accept of women’s new thought by becoming an individual. It’s not only about living her husband and children, but leaving suppression, leaving domestic oppression. Hence, from this point we come to how a woman who is not economically independed Significantly, the scene of forgery in this play is nothing but a demand to give  women equal position in society and business.
A women can be envision as private domestically yet has inspirational attitude for example, dynamic and courageous. The character of Nora gives a positive picture about women when uncovers herself as independent and brave.  Ibsen has brought her into a challenge against the patriarchy. When Nora says,
“I must stand on my own two feet. If I’m to get to know myself and the world outside. That’s why I can’t stay here with you any longer.”
                                                                    ( Ibsen's Henrik, A Doll's House)
This is how the play become a vital source to trigger the feminists to brush off the  blind ideology towards women . Ibsen has given the theme of feminism in the regard of economy.
